Black Forest cake is a must in the Black Forest! Cafe Schaefer uses the original recipe of the Black Forest cake, passed on to the cafe owner by its inventor Josef Keller. The cake had a surprisingly remarkable taste of kirsch liquor, found at the top layer chocolate sponge and the layer of cherries at the bottom. It felt very light, with thick layers of cream in between thin layers of chocolate sponge, although I'd prefer less cream and more chocolate
