Although I didn't have a great experience at Épure, I do agree that the vol au vent is a must have - flaky puff ring with a perfectly pan-seared scallop, topped with rich liquorice flavoured purée when served. The mushroom soup I had for starters was slightly disappointing, the flavours were mild and I didn't like the idea of gnocchi in the soup. The service here was pretty appalling for a fine dining restaurant, a few of the waiters who served us came across as rude with their attitude, so I don't think I'll visit again.

The macaron tower is from Dalloyau. Their macarons have the right level of sweetness, and although the macaron shells weren't crispy on the outside, they're very chewy. I like it a lot!!
