麥奀記 Mak's Noodles is probably the most famous Wonton & Duck Egg noodles shop in Hong Kong. Over the years of visiting, it is relatively more stable in taste than other shops, although this latest visit did have soup that was slightly weaker than normal - plus the signature 'Sweetness balance' that sets it apart from other Mak's family branched off shops was absent on this day. The Sui Gao (水餃) here is amongst the best in HK with good crunch from the wood ear fungus and manageable morsel sized, whilst the Wonton (雲吞) contrary to popular belief bucks from the trend set by its Grandfather's generation in Guangzhou, by having only prawns and fish but no pork meat inside.
