It was our pleasure to have the chance to dine with the legendary soccer player Dwight Yorke at Scarpetta Doha restaurant in the Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha . The service, wine selections, and ambiance were great. We were happy and enjoyed our dinner For starters, we ordered two portions of "SEARED SCALLOPS" (110 QAR). The sauce and all components of the dish were excellent, enhancing the overall experience. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but the scallops were seasoned a quite too salty. Next, we had two portions of "BRAISED SHORT RIBS" (90 QAR). The meat was fantastic and paired well with its sauce and vegetables FARRO RISOTTO whichwe really enjoyed. Next BURRATA" (95 QAR), included pickled eggplant and confit cherry tomatoes, was very good. The creamy burrata complemented the balsamic and olive oil beautifully. We also tried the "CHARRED OCTOPUS" (115 QAR). Unfortunately, the octopus was burned badly, as you can see in the picture. The bitterness and burning smell made the dish unenjoyable, which is disappointing given the nice sauce and components. The "NEW YORK STRIP STEAK" (300 QAR) was perfectly cooked; however, the side of corn and mushrooms were burnt, as shown in the picture. The "VITELLO TONNATO" (105 QAR) was acceptable, while the "VEAL MILANESE" (330 QAR) had quite thick breadcrumbs and lacked the aroma of butter that it should have. The "GRAN FRITTO MISTO" (160 QAR) featured a good selection of sauces. The calamari, prawns, zucchini, and potato chips were all perfectly fried and not oily, but they were extremely salty. We also ordered pastas and broccolini gratin, which I forgot to take pictures of, but they were all good. Overall, while some dishes were burnt and should not have been served, and others were overly salty with large chunks of salt, we were very happy with the service, beverages, and ambianc. *** I would rated 6/10 for this meal
